ABOUT

Shirin Bajaj, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon with dual fellowship training in Mohs Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery. Her main interest is in cutaneous oncology, and she has a special interest in melanoma.
Dr. Bajaj is a New York native, though she pursued her training at several respected hospitals nationwide. She was accepted to medical school at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine straight from high school as part of their prestigious seven-year Honors Program in Medical Education. During her undergraduate years at Northwestern, this gave her the flexibility to pursue a broad liberal arts education, and there she majored in political science. As a medical student she fortified her interest in cutaneous oncology and melanoma by spending a year-long fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She graduated from medical school with Honors in research amongst the top eight students in her class, and was inducted into the esteemed medical honors society, Alpha Omega Alpha. She went on to pursue her internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and dermatology residency at New York University. She is one of few trainees who completed a two-year fellowship program at Laser Skin Surgery Center of New York. Under the mentorship of Dr. Roy Geronemus and their team of renowned New York plastic surgeons, she was trained at the highest level in Mohs surgery, cutaneous oncology, complex post-Mohs reconstruction, laser surgery, cosmetic dermatologic surgery, injectables, and clinical trials.
She returned to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to begin her career, where she continues on as part-time faculty. Dr. Bajaj strives to approach each patient and their goals individually, and to provide them with the highest cure rates and best cosmetic outcomes. She aims to stay cutting edge with the latest research and developments within the dermatology, cutaneous oncology, reconstructive, and device spaces. Her time training at LSSC positioned her uniquely to have training in the development and utilization of the latest devices, technologies, and injectables within dermatology. Most so, she takes pride in spending time getting to know her patients, providing compassionate and exceptional care, and does her best to be accessible to her patients.
